ah. jarryd + sophie. i have been waiting for this wedding and it most certainly didn’t disappoint. not only was this my last wedding for the year, but we went out with a bang. literally. there were fireworks. there were also rows upon rows of identical tents for the guests. and an awesome alter for them to get married on. and a old school house. and 45kg of lollies. and surprisingly the lollies weren’t my favourite thing of the whole day!
jarryd + sophie put in SO much work for their wedding, and it was simply spectacular.
biggest of thank yous go to katie from heartstory photography down in canberra…she braved the queensland heat and came to help me out, and i loved every minute spent with her!
you still here? i haven’t bored you with this marathon of images? great. just don’t judge me as a fireworks photographer. apparently it is an art.

when I first met with Lisa and she said she was interested in a “first look”…I think I nearly peed my pants. It’s not something that is big in Australia (yet) but it’s huge in the States. For those not in the know, it’s where you meet your fiance before the ceremony…get your photos over and done with…then do the ceremony thing and head straight into your reception. For those of you wanting a late ceremony, with that amazing late afternoon light, it’s a brilliant idea.
I asked Lisa to let me know what her experience with a first look was like, and this is what she said:
Although we can’t directly compare, having a ‘first look’ and photos before the ceremony was perfect for us. It made the experience of seeing each other all dressed up a lot more intimate and very special. We were able to take a few minutes together just being wrapped in the moment in a beautiful place. We both have a calming influence over each other so by the time it came to the ceremony we were quite relaxed. I was so happy to have Greg holding my hand leading up to the ceremony and not worrying about the worse case scenarios (tripping over my dress) etc. It was also fantastic to join our guests straight away at the reception. I think many people were happy that they didn’t have to find something to do to kill the time between the ceremony and reception. While it’s not for everyone, it was a fantastic experience for us and good to do things a bit differently. I wouldn’t change a thing!
As a photographer, a first look was also great for us too – because Lisa and Greg wanted their ceremony after 5pm, it meant that we could still have a few hours to get photos done, without worrying about losing light at all.
Worth a thought? Maybe. If you are chasing that gorgeous late afternoon golden glow for your ceremony, then it’s definitely a good idea!
Big thanks to Kristy from Kristy Bradford PHotography for coming up from Newcastle to help me out on this one!

i have so many sneak peeks due. but it’s school holidays and i’m loving not making school lunches. although the kids are driving me a little batty today. tomorrow i’ll hang out in my jimmy jams all day and life will be perfect.
i have 2 weddings, a maternity session and a gorgeous little family session to catch up on. for now, some carpark fun.
who needs sun when you have a gorgeous couple, a man of honour, shoes that deserve their own theme song and a casino?
many thanks to katie for helping me out for this wedding xx
ummmmm, wow, things have been quiet over here, right? I’ve had a few weekends off work, and then a few more cos it’s winter, and people get sick in winter…and i had full intentions of coming and putting something on the blog, but i’ve kinda liked the sleep ins, and the lack of computer time, so, ummmm, sorry.
and my back is hurting already (must. get. new. chair.), so i will make this quick.
erin + robert got married over the weekend, and it was a gorgeous day, and they are a gorgeous couple, and the whole thing was just gorgeous.
big thanks to the lovely Andrea Sproxton for helping me out on this one – much appreciated, lovely lady xx

erin + robert’s gorgeous, gorgeous daughter

amazing flowers from roberta at green and bloom – love her work!

lizzy cox was their celebrant….she was so much fun!

Last weekend Bec photographed Kate + Jeremy’s wedding at the gorgeous Flaxton Gardens in Montville. They couldn’t have asked for better weather and the day went off without a hitch. Never was there two more organised, relaxed, deliriously happy people. It was such a pleasure to have been part of their day. Danielle Hamilton came along to give a hand and I would like to give her a huge Thank You! I always LOVE working with Danielle and this time was no different. Be sure to check out her blog soon as I’m sure she’ll be dying to blog her photos!
The girls got ready without much fuss at all. Kate’s dress was amazing but let me tell you, this thing weighed a tonne and I’m pretty sure Kate won’t have to go to bootcamp for a whole month after wearing it around all day!

The boys preparations involved pizza, beer, the newspaper and a game of pool.

The ceremony was gorgeous! Everyone expected Kate (aka “the crier”) to shed some tears but she surprised everyone and smiled throughout the whole ceremony.

Then we got to the fun part…the after shoot! The light at Flaxton is A.mazing!

How cool is this. Kates dress had….pockets! Can you believe it. A wedding dress with pockets. What an awesome idea. Here she is showing them off.

Guys, Thank you so much for letting Dani and I be a part of your day. We had an awesome time and we hope you love your images. We’ll be in touch soon.
bec+fo xx

biggest of thanks to christine pobke for her help with fo for this wedding. she was nothing short of amazing to work with.
the day began for the guys, as most wedding days do. a few beers, a bit of relaxing. and some guitar restringing.

and only a little bit more chaotic for the girls. still pretty relaxed though.

tip for brides with buttons down the back of their dress. invest in a crochet hook.

this bible belonged to cathie’s grandmother – cathie is now the 3rd to carry it down the isle with her. love it.

cathie+dave’s ceremony was held is the gorgeous newstead house gazebo.

ummmm, hello eyes! both of you!
