ben+row | brisbane engagement photographers

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

so we’re heading into that busy time of year. you know that time. the time when everyone is getting married or engaged or they want family photos before christmas. the weather is warming up (it was a balmy 27 degrees in gorgeous brisbane today!), the days are getting longer and bec+fo are getting busier.

today we had two engagement sessions and first cab off the rank was ben+row. we met ben+row earlier this year when they booked us to shoot their wedding in August. we’re kinda excited about their wedding because it involves a road trip. yay! yep, in four weeks we head to kyogle where these guys are getting married. we’ve seen pictures and it looks like an awesome location so keep an eye out for that blog post! so to stick with the rural feel of the wedding we decided to do ben and rowena’s engagement session in a location full of trees, grass, ivy and…kangaroo poo (sorry about that guys!)

ben+row, thank you for traveling all the way from kyogle for our shoot. we hope you had as much fun as we did and we’ll see you in four weeks!

take a look!

details, details, we love the little details

and add to that, some gorgeous people, and whoila!

big thanks to the sun for coming out to play ;)

ellen + ryan | brisbane engagement photography

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

we’re shooting ellen and ryan’s wedding on november 7 this year. today we got to spend the afternoon hanging out with them and taking some engagement photos. the story bridge area was the destination of choice and while the bridge made for an awesome backdrop, we managed to find and even more perfect spot. Yeah, we trespassed. yeah, we scaled fences (with barbed wire. how hard core are we?!?!?) and yeah, we’re both now feeling very sore and sorry for ourselves… but it was so totally worth it.

enjoy your sneak peek guys. we hope you’ve recovered from our very eventful afternoon and we’ll be in touch very soon.

bec+fo xx

just in case you missed where we were ;)

these guys were up for anything. good thing, cos we asked a lot of them. bec+fo+ellen+ryan=totallyawesomedude

the stocks family | brisbane family photographers

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

anytime a photographer asks you to do their family photos, it’s a huge compliment. it’s an even huger compliment when the photographer is the very talented jen stocks. jen and her family have spent a week escaping the cold bathurst winter, in favour for our warm, sunny gold coast and what better way to end their holiday then a shoot with bec+fo. we had paper planes, hammocks, rock collecting, a quick game of hide and seek and some glorious late winter sunshine. jen, thank you so much for choosing us to do your family photos. we loved spending the afternoon with you and your gorgeous family (and then enjoyed the wine, dinner and singstar that came later) and we hope you love your images. have a safe trip home.

bec+fo xx

yes, our secret location even has paper planes tied to the trees. true story.

yep, you guessed it. hammocks randomly tied to trees too. fo’ realz.

aren’t jen’s boys gorgeous?? such an adorable family.

meet dusty (intelligent, and thoughtful) ….

another gorgeous little boy. there must be something in the water.

TRF: if you are a follower of fiona carson photography…and if these guys look familiar….there’s a very good reason. fiona photographed kate pregnant with summer, and then summer’s newborn photos, as well as 6 mnonth and 12 month photos. i think fo almost has a spare bed set up here ;)

another TRF: an ant always falls over on its right side when intoxicated. true story.

location, location, location | brisbane child photographer

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

we have this secret place where we love to shoot. it’s green and lush, it’s brown and dry, it’s swampy and, hmmm what goes with swampy? anyway, there are so many different backdrops in the one spot and although we’ve shot there many times we still manage to find new and exciting pockets of awesomeness. I mean this place even rocks in winter when everything else looks dreary and depressing. we’ll be doing a few “styled” family shoots here in the next few months so keep an eye out for them. and hey, if you like the look of it why not book in a shoot with us? we’ll share our awesome location with you, because we’re generous like that!

these were taken at “the” location just today. can anyone say b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l

jane + adelia | brisbane newborn photographer

Monday, July 5th, 2010

adelia means noble, but i also believe it means the most loved little girl in the universe. seven days ago this gorgeous creature began her entry into the world. it was emotional, it was hard work, it was amazing. even before she was born they knew she would have a head of dark hair and a cute button nose. fondly known as their eskimo baby, adelia has been born into a family of love, generosity and strength. grandpa thinks she’s the bees knees and her aunties are besotted, but i think the most loved up of all is her mum, a woman of amazing strength and courage. this journey has been a long and complicated one, but at the end of it all is adelia. who could ask for more.

here is a photojournalistic view of adelia’s 6th day in this world.

bec+fo xx

the night it all began. a hospital waiting room, a belly full of nerves, a head full of questions and a whole lot of anticipation.

seven days later

mr j + mr h + little miss a | brisbane family photographer

Sunday, July 4th, 2010

we laughed, we cried (well miss A cried), we got dirty, ate snakes, played in puddles and dodged lucky kangaroo poo (don’t ask!). miss A wasn’t a fan of having her photo taken but being the the glass half full kinda gals that we are, we only see the positives in the situation. with a little bit of bribery, a lot of hiding (from me) and some patience we were able to capture ashley in all her blonde afro glory!

thanks for hanging out this afternoon guys. we hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

bec+fo xx

check out these gorgeous kids!

we should also add that the boys were total rockstars when it came to having their photos taken. thanks guys!

Steven + Kae | Brisbane Wedding Photographers

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

can you say “cutest couple eva!” because that’s exactly what steve and kae are. the planning of this wedding was mostly done from japan, including the booking and consultation with us. it’s unusual for us not to have met our clients before their big day, so we were pretty excited at the prospect of meeting these guys merely hours before their ceremony. kae greeted us with the biggest smile and the most amazing dress we’ve seen in a looong time. get this though, not only is she stylish but she’s practical too. this girl doesn’t let a bit of cold weather get in the way. No siree! leg warmers. yep, kae wore the coolest leg warmers under her dress. black and sparkly and so totally 80′s.

so anyway, after getting ready shots we headed over to st michaels church for the ceremony. this place is truly a church like no other we have seen before. it’s all dark and gothic like with stained glass windows, candles, exposed beams and dark wood. we honestly could have shot in there all. day. long.

the very quick ceremony was followed by photos in the church grounds and then a few quick shots on the beach outside the reception venue, sails at redcliffe.

steven and kae, thank you so much for sharing your day with us. it was lovely to finally get to meet you both. we hope you enjoyed your reception and that your second reception in japan is just as awesome. we’ll be in touch soon.

bec + fo

check out these shoes!

we love that kae’s dress had a japanese twist.

cute bride alert!

dad capturing the view to show everyone at home.

as did we ;)

see! cute right!?!?!
