ben+rowena=gorgeous kyogle wedding | brisbane wedding photography

August 30th, 2010

yesterday we took a road trip to kyogle to photograph the wedding of ben and rowena.  after meeting with these guys and doing an engagement shoot with them we kinda knew not to expect the usual when it came to their wedding day.  what we weren’t expecting was a very cool full size teepee, a pair of awesome purple shoes and a breathtaking location.  together with a small group of family friends (many of whom had travelled from the UK for the big day) ben and rowena celebrated their wedding in their own original way and in our opinion, it couldn’t have been more perfect.

ben and row chose not to do the whole walk down the aisle thing.  instead, they had a first look and then walked down to the ceremony location with their guests following.

the awesome teepee

this is grace. she loved our cameras. lots.

sharryn+guitar=awesome | brisbane portrait photography

August 29th, 2010

sharryn has always been incredibly talented and over the years she’s been lucky enough to pursue her love of music.  today we had the wonderful opportunity to photograph sharryn and her guitar in her home town of dayboro.  lucky for us,  sharryn is in cahoots with the locals and we were able to use the most gorgeous location ever!  i’m telling you,  we could shoot there all. day. long!  anyway, if you’re having a party or wedding and you have a love for country music then sharryn is your girl.

ps- don’t forget to check out tomorrows blog post when we blog Ben and Rowenna’s wedding.  just to get you excited…it features a full size teepee!

need some wedding ideas???? | brisbane portrait and wedding photographers

August 26th, 2010

so yesterday we teamed up with sarah and prue from harpier for a fun shoot. if you are a bride-to-be and are after some inspiration for something different for your wedding….then look no further! sarah and prue did a fantastic job of hair and make up…and together we put these amazing wedding outfits together. unfortunately, we didn’t get time to source a florist who may have been able to help…so fo whipped these bouquets up (and she is just a little bit proud of them, although florists the world over would have shuddered seeing her wrapping them up with electrical tape!!!!). Our aim for this was to show you what is possible when you step outside the box. take a look, get some inspiration, and let us know what you think.

a very, very big thank you to our gorgeous models nat, aimee, keziah and trent. you guys rock! and sarah and prue, it was great working with you again – and hopefully we can do more of this soon!

so here are our top 5 suggestions to that bride-to-be to help make her wedding day different to every other wedding!

5. try something different when choosing your flowers. roses are gorgeous….but they certainly aren’t different or unique. look at things like kale, or natives. and maybe ask fo for advice if unsure, cos she apparently has a thing for flowers ;)

4. add colour with some stripey socks. no one will see them under your dress (unless you have a rocking mini) but they will make VERY cool photos!

3. you don’t have to stick to white for your dress. mix it up and play with some colour or textures.

2. add some cool shoes, or loads of jewellery and headwear to make a simple dress AMAZING! experiment, play, and have some fun with your accessories!

and lastly our #1 tip… choose bec+fo to do you wedding photography.  not only are you guaranteed an awesome experience, but we could help you look this cool!

ps-  oh, it’s important not to forget the groom too.  vests always look good and why not swap those boring shiny black shoes for a pair of cons and some funk socks!

wendy+ian+super nic | brisbane family photographer

August 1st, 2010

it’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s…super nic! capes, trikes, planes, woofy. we had it all including a pretty scary moment where we were almost stampeded by kangaroos. luckily we had super nic there to keep us safe. phew!

honestly, nic is the sweetest most adorable kid ever, even if the only way to get him to smile is to shout “boobies” at the top of your voice every five minutes. hey, don’t look at me like that. it was his mum’s idea. really!

thanks for an awesome afternoon guys. nic, keep fighting crime!
